Engagement

Every instruction begins with a formal engagement letter setting out the agreed scope of work, assumptions, exclusions, the legal team responsible, the fee structure, and the reporting schedule. Conflict checks are completed before any engagement is confirmed. If we identify a conflict that prevents us from acting, we will inform you immediately and, where appropriate, recommend alternative counsel.

Fees

We believe fee arrangements should be clear before work begins. Depending on the nature of the matter, we work on fixed fees, capped fees, or time-based billing. The applicable fee basis is agreed in writing at the outset. If the scope of work changes during the engagement, we discuss and agree the revised scope before additional work is undertaken — not after an invoice is issued.

Reporting

We provide regular matter updates according to your preferred reporting schedule. Every report includes the current status, next steps, and an updated assessment of legal exposure. For clients managing multiple proceedings, we maintain a consolidated litigation register across all courts and forums, providing a single view of every active matter.

Confidentiality & Data Protection

Confidentiality is central to every engagement. Client information is protected through controlled access, conflict screening procedures, and secure document management practices. Personal data is processed in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we are able to complete client information security questionnaires and execute data processing agreements where required.

Working with Your Other Advisers

Many matters involve multiple advisers across jurisdictions. We work collaboratively alongside your existing legal, financial, tax, and regulatory advisers while respecting established reporting structures. Each adviser remains independently engaged and reports in the format your organisation has already standardised.
