Our Overview
We were formed to serve a particular kind of client. The company whose transaction has an Indian leg and a foreign one. The investor whose diligence question turns out to be a regulatory question. The foreign law firm whose client has just been served in Delhi and who needs counsel that answers the telephone. The Indian business that has outgrown its relationship with a single advocate and needs a firm.
The practice runs across corporate and transactional work, disputes and enforcement, and regulatory advisory, from [confirm the office list]. Our lawyers are enrolled with the [State Bar Council] and appear before the High Courts, the National Company Law Tribunal, arbitral tribunals and the regulatory forums where the work actually lands.
We built the firm around a simple observation. Indian legal work for international clients usually fails not on the law but on the interface, because the advice arrives late, arrives in a form the client cannot take to a board, or arrives without anybody having asked what the client is actually trying to do. We fixed the interface first and the rest followed.
Four commitments, and we would rather be measured against them than against adjectives.

We answer
Every enquiry receives an acknowledgement within four working hours and a substantive response within one working day. Where we cannot help, we say so immediately rather than working out how to bill the question.

We put the conclusion first
Advice opens with the answer and the recommended course. The reasoning follows for the reader who needs it. A memorandum that requires the client to reach page nine to learn what to do has failed, whatever its scholarship.

We agree the fee before we start
Scope, assumptions, exclusions and the basis of the fee are recorded in writing at the outset. Where a matter can sensibly be handled on a fixed or capped basis we propose it rather than waiting to be asked, and any change in scope is notified before the additional work is done, not with the invoice.

We think past this matter
Most of our clients arrived with a dispute or a deal and stayed for the decade that followed. Advice is given with that horizon, which occasionally means recommending a settlement that a purely transactional adviser would not.

Our Group

Licensing, registrations, filings and ongoing statutory compliance are provided by Compliance Support Services. Where more than one is engaged on the same project you will receive an engagement letter from each, setting out its own scope and its own fee, and no fee is shared between them.
